When Dylan was going through a deep and painful personal transition he shifted to the human form. It was the end of his first marriage and the time he fell in love with Karen, whom he later married. For him, the nude female figure was a taboo subject growing up in a strict conservative and religious home. He (Lewis 2015:17) explained: “For me the cat forms were in a sense safe…unthreatening…conservative.”
